If poem-writing has taught me anything,
It is courage.
The strength to stand for
What I feel when the
Pressures of the outside world
Weigh me down.
If I gain insight
Concerning my sexuality,
Sure I can write it down.
For me.
But can I share it with readers--
With my Dad?
Courage adds a layer of
Conquerable fear.
If I learn something profound
During the day,
Sure I can make documentation,
And grow.
But can I portray at 2
In the morning?
When my eyelids are closing their
Drapes?
I write, knowing that my Dad
Has access to my vault.
I gave him the key.
I write into the morning;
Putting my poetic growth
As priority.
My courage an open book
To all readers.
