I think the hardest part of being a poet
Lies not in what to write
but how.

How to translucently capture a moment
without ruffling her bold feathers.
How to keep her safe while still allowing the song to soar
through the barred barriers.
How to put her on royal display
Without upsetting the activists--
The freedom fighters.

But
Poetry is Freedom.
Giving words an unfamiliar venue,
Allowing Man the sight of unearthed beauty.

Give me the way, I will write the word.
